Meet Heidi Evelyn Morris

Registered Nurse, Army Combat Medic Veteran, Nutrition/Health & Wellness Coach, Professional Chef, Ayurveda/Naturopathy Practitioner, 200 RYT, Certified Sound Healer, Gardener, and Homesteader.

I have always been curious about how food affects the body since a young age. I grew up in a family with a culinary background and of medical professionals. I learned to cook from scratch, garden and preserve the harvest at a young age; including grinding wheat to make homemade bread. Growing up my dad took me to the local co-op in Duluth, Minnesota, and taught me the importance of knowing where our food comes from and how it affects the health of our body.

When I went to college, I realized how imperative nutrition and exercise/lifestyle go hand in hand with our overall health and wellness (including mental health). I allowed myself to bypass the labels of food, and exercise as I was experiencing life and didn’t have the time, so I thought. After serving in the army, working on the ambulance/air and hospitals, I had put so much stress on my body without taking care of my own health and wellness. I developed medical conditions and diagnoses people in their 60's get and I was in my late 20's and early 30's. I had the knowledge & education; however I wasn’t using it for my own health. I had enough of pain and doctors, so I finally applied my knowledge to my own health and was able to reverse and control many of the things I was told I was not able to. I did this through food, exercise and lifestyle. I have continued to learn how food has changed, from where it comes, and how it affects the body. There are ingredients in which to avoid, and others needing to add. I have learned and experimented how to cook what seem like boring vegetables into art for your eyes and bursts of flavor for your palate that not only heal but soothes the body and soul.

It is my goal is to share the knowledge I have obtained over the past 30+ years to help others seeking a balance of health and wellness for the mind body and soul.
